No one can argue with the fact that Beyonce has had an amazing past couple of years. She’s become Mrs. Jay-Z, had a baby named Blue, penciled in “Superbowl Halftime Show” into her calendar, was the covergirl for GQ’s “Sexiest Women of the 21st Century” issue, and performed for the president. Well, guess what? Beyonce’s life is about to get even better, because that last one? You know, the whole, “singing for the president” thing? Yeah, she gets to do that AGAIN.
Beyonce and husband Jay-Z were huge supporters of Obama during his re-election campaign, taking it upon themselves to host fundraisers and use their huge social media following to rally support, so it really only makes sense that the first lady of pop should have the honor of singing during Obamas inauguration ceremony. The ceremony and performances will take place on the Capitol steps on January 21st, with Kelly Clarkson and James Taylor joining in on the celebrations. Beyonce will sing the National Anthem, while Clarkson will serenade us with “My Country Tis Of Thee,” and Taylor will perform “America The Beautiful.”
